2. Mission
- Hannah Lockwood Ministries - Embrace New Beginnings ("I", “our”, “us”, “we”) exists to equip the Body of Christ and communities around the world through biblical teaching. Our primary obligation is to grow deeper in relationship with Jesus Christ and obedience to the perfect will of God and leading of the Holy Spirit. We seek to serve God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (Trinity) to the best of our abilities and understanding. We seek to serve the Body of Christ, and humanity as a collective whole, as a ministry to Jesus Christ and His (universal) Church. We are in constant pursuit to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people around the world.
- As we serve the Body of Christ and communities around the world, we trust for and we are grateful to this same body of people for contributions, donations, and financial support. We offer this ministry to the Body of Christ and communities around the world through all content, including but not limited to, all posted content, images, videos, podcasts, and blogs via our websites, host platforms, and social media free of charge and no obligation. We require no financial commitment for these free services, unless otherwise specified as financially required subscription, registration, membership, product and/or service based access.
- We provide the opportunity to anyone who would like to financially support this Christ-centered ministry through contributions, donations, and financial support. All contributions, donations, and financial support are offered as a gift and are gratefully received as such, and are invaluable in running and maintaining a faith-based ministry.
- We will seek to responsibly steward all financial support, contributions, and donations in support of this ministry, its workers, and volunteers who serve it. We may also use a portion of financial support, contributions, and donations we receive to support other ministries, as led by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. A minimum of 10% of all gross contributions, donations, and financial support received will be given to a church of our choosing in the from of Tithes and Offerings.
3. Receive the Word of God
- Rhema Word of God and Prophetic Word of God
- A Rhema word is a message from God given to an individual or group that meets their present moment need(s) and/or struggle(s) regarding their current circumstances, state of mind, state of affairs, and/or state of being, etc.
- Rhema Word Example: You "randomly" stumble upon a YouTube video of a pastor preaching a sermon about not worrying because God will always provide for those desperate needs you fear are impossible. While the preacher probably has no individual knowledge or details about your need of more money to pay for a vital surgery for your sick child, God is speaking directly to you through this person's mouth to let you know that God will make a way to provide those finances you need so your sick child can have their surgery. This comforting and confirming word from God lets you know that God sees your needs, fears, and pain, and is making a Promise that He will come through to help your family.
- A Prophetic word is a message from God that contains instructions, revelations, equipping, warnings, and/or information about things and events to come.
- Prophetic Word Example: You receive a message from God from someone who operates in the prophetic gift who warns you about not making any big purchases and cutting household costs because a drought is coming. At the time you may be living your best life with a great career and money stacked up in your savings account. Then one month after receiving this prophetic word, your company lays off all upper-management positions to cut costs. Because you received that prophetic word a month prior, you already took steps to lower your monthly bills and didn't spend the money in your savings account to buy a new car or new home. Now you can use that money to keep afloat until you get hired with another company. God is looking out for your best interests, and used a prophetic word to keep you from extensive suffering.
- The most common form of Rhema word and prophetic word is offered universally to the Body of Christ. We acknowledge that, broadly, people will be differently positioned to receive a Rhema word or prophetic word, and not every prophetic word or Rhema word is intended for every person.
- We provide information which we believe is a true Word from God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and use the Bible as our source and authority of this truth. This information is provided on the basis that the recipient(s) understand(s) that everything provided must first be tested, scanned, filtered, assessed, and weighed for truth by the Holy Spirt and then acted upon according to the considerations in seeking and receiving a prophetic word and/or Rhema word, which you acknowledge you have read in Part 4 below.
- We encourage the practice of discernment regarding how to read and receive a prophetic word and Rhema word, and wisdom in acting upon it. We encourage those who are not confident in discernment to seek mentorship from someone reputable and more experienced and to pray to Jesus for maturity and development in the gifts of wisdom and discernment. We engage with prophecy and Rhema as a personal communication from Jesus to those who have a personal relationship with Jesus, and those who have discerned the message that was intended for them.
- We also encourage treating a prophetic word and Rhema word, as we do with every promise from Jesus, as an invitation to engage with Jesus in a more authentic, intimate friendship (relationship) and personally receive Him, His truth, and His ways of living life. We do not believe that every prophetic word and Rhema word will automatically result in a divine intervention or miracle, outside of your own engagement with God in obedience, love, and faith.
- We hope to maintain regular prophetic words and Rhema words, content posting, and encouraging messages delivered without charge to a mass audience via websites, host platforms, and social media services (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, Audible, Slack, Amazon Music, LinkedIn, etc.), live recordings, virtual meetings, virtual support groups, telephone, text, and email. We make no offer of and no guarantee of blessings, favor, financial increase, health, provisions, resources, promotion, assistance, advocacy, prophetic words, Rhema words, healing words, deliverance words, miracles, signs, wonders,, etc. "to order,", "on-demand" or "for purchase" and, should a any type of word be requested, we make no offer and no guarantee of delivery, or that the word, prophetic word and/or Rhema word received will be beneficial and/or favorable.
4. Examine the Word of God
- Guidelines:
- A prophetic word and Rhema word can never and does not intend to replace seeking an intimate, close friendship and relationship with Jesus yourself. It can never be a substitute for a relationship, prayer, fasting, spending quality time with God, studying the Bible, and obtaining wise counsel and/or seeking any professional services (medical, legal, financial, etc.)
- A prophetic word and/or Rhema word given in a public forum may not apply to everyone who is available to receive it. As one would not receive any random passage of scripture as a personal prophetic word and/or Rhema word, one should also consider any public prophecy and message prayerfully.
- A prophetic word and Rhema word are not the only ways that Jesus can reveal His will, purposes, and plans – however, they can play an important role.
- Any prophetic word will be in part, progressive and conditional.
- “In part” because “we prophesy in part” (1 Corinthians 13:9).
- “Progressive” – look at Abraham’s life and the promises given to him (Genesis 12 & 13).
- “Conditional” – whether any conditions are mentioned (Revelation 3:21).
- A prophetic word and Rhema word often requires you to act – it is not an indication that Jesus will act such that you do not need to take any action. Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance to understand the part you play in your partnership with God and His individual path and purpose for your life. In addition, it is also wise to seek professional services (medical, legal, financial, etc.) before making any serious changes or important decisions.
- The following Bible verses identify issues that may prevent fulfilment of a prophetic word and Rhema word:
- Unbelief (Hebrews 3:19).
- Mindset and agreeance (Matthew 18:21-22).
- Wrong self-image (Exodus, chapters 3 – 4).
- Self-importance, misapplication and misinterpretation (Jeremiah 38:19-20, 1 Samuel 15:22-30).
- Impatience (1 Samuel 13:12).
- Negligence, procrastination, and laziness (Exodus 4:24-26).
- Pride (Isaiah 14:13-15).
- Conditions set and broken – disobedience, sin (2 Samuel 7:12-14).
- Blame shifting, self-deception and people-pleasing (1 Samuel 15:20-21)
- Insufficient prayer – Jeremiah’s prophecy of 70 years captivity ending only came to fulfilment after Daniel began to pray (Daniel 9.23).
5. Understand the Word of God
"Do not quench, subdue, or be unresponsive to the working and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Do not scorn, despise, or reject gifts of prophecy or prophecies which are spoken and written revelations, words of instruction, exhortation, warnings, and/or things to come. But test all things carefully so you can recognize and hold fast to what is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21
- We recommend the following actions as you seek to understand a prophetic word and/or Rhema word:
- Consider the prophetic word and/or Rhema word prayerfully – observe anything that seems to resound with biblical truth and stand out as a Holy Spirit Witness. Be sure that this word does not merely confirm fleshly desires but that it is truly God witnessing to it in your life.
- Receive the prophetic word and/or Rhema word with faith and acceptance.
- Record the prophetic word and/or Rhema word (if not already in a re-playable format).
- Play back the prophetic word and/or Rhema word and then write it out. Read it several times and ask Jesus about anything that is unclear. Discuss it with your pastor or spiritual mentor and ask for his/her input.
- Look for confirmation of any previous prophetic words and/or Rhema words you have received previously.
- Realize that the first interpretation is not necessarily the right one or complete one. There can be several interpretations of the same prophetic word and/or Rhema word.
- Witness to your prophetic word and/or Rhema word with your spirit – not solely with your mind, emotions, personal opinions, or goals (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Realize that Jesus can use a prophetic word and/or Rhema word to speak new revelations as well as confirm any prophetic words and/or Rhema words received in the past.
- Speak your prophetic word and/or Rhema word aloud.
- Do not make any significant changes unless you are clearly directed to do so. Keep doing what you are doing and advised to do until Jesus has directed you to make certain changes. Always seek professional advice and instruction (medical, legal, and financial, etc.) BEFORE making any changes or decisions..
- You need to be patient to see the fulfilment of God’s will. While instant divine miracles still happen all the time, significant change and spiritual transformation may take time. Patience and perseverance are needed.
- Receive the prophetic word and/or Rhema word in a spirit of humility, meekness, and submission, and do not negate Jesus’ word by receiving a prophetic word and/or Rhema word in the wrong spirit.
